We’ve reached the unofficial start of summer! We did have a few freak snowstorms this month, but hopefully we’re past that. Summer bring a sense of freedom with its warm weather. It’s a good time to get away from it all. Some writers are able to go on a retreat for some concentrated writing time. Most of us aren’t blessed with the time or money to get away from everyday life to focus only on writing. That’s where the DIY retreat comes in.
Three day weekends work great for a retreat, but anytime you can set aside a few hours a day for writing, networking activity, and reflection will for an at-home retreat.
I’m planning my own DIY retreat for May 31st to June 2nd. I have an advantage in living in Colorado, which is beautiful, but a DIY retreat can happen anywhere. Tomorrow, I’ll post the schedule for my retreat, and later this week I put up tips for how to maximize your success when you have your own retreat.
Anyone want to join me this weekend? It so, or if you choose a different time, let me know about your experiences in the comments below.
